Voters in Georgia Support Action on Climate Change

A new poll has found that 64% of voters in Georgia support government action on climate change, and 68-70% think their member of Congress, and federal and state governments should be doing more. The poll was conducted by Climate Nexus Polling, the George Mason University Center for Climate Change Communication, and the Yale Program on Climate Communication.

When asked what the most important priority for addressing Georgia’s energy needs, 64% said renewable energy such as wind and solar, while less than 20% supported more natural gas or nuclear power plants.

When asked about climate impact on Georgia right now, 65% say it is already having a large impact on agriculture, 58% say it is impacting health now, and 62% say extreme weather events in the state are being impacted by climate change.
