EPA Awards Funds to Replace a Polluting School Bus in Durham, NC

EPA awarded $20,000 to replace an old, polluting, school bus in Durham NC with a newer less polluting bus. This is part of the DERA (Diesel Emission Reduction Act) funding, EPA is awarding $9million nationwide this year.
Replacing old, polluting, school buses will improve students’ health, improve their test scores, and reduce pollution in the community too. Studies show that replacing 10% of a fleet can have a big impact on students’ performance and health. This is good news for Durham and the people who live there!
