Sustainable Sandhills, a nonprofit operating in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, recently recognized Mothers & Others for Clean Air at their Green Business Awards luncheon in Fayetteville, N.C. M&O was named third runner-up for the “Walk the Walk Green Awareness” award, noting businesses that show success spreading the message of a healthier environment. M&O also earned second runner-up for “Walk the Walk Nonprofit/Community Engagement” award. Sustainable Sandhills has the mission to protect the environment of the Sandhills region through education, collaboration, and demonstration of efforts. Although the organization has been giving out the awards for a few years, this year’s luncheon was the organization’s first-ever community event recognizing the recipients.
