M&O shares in the disappointment with the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE), Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), and others in the passage of an amendment that was included in a new transportation funding bill that will squash policy support for electric vehicles in Georgia.
This provision in the legislation that passed undermines the progress Georgia has made on electric vehicles and the positive impact these vehicles have had for the state.
Last month M&O Project Director Susan Berryman-Rodriguez made the case for saving Georgia’s electric vehicle tax credit in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “More EVs have long-term and lifetime benefits to our economy and our health. Ignoring the enormous benefits is penny wise and pound foolish,” said Berryman-Rodriguez.
