The Governor of New Jersey signed an executive order today creating a new Climate and Flood Resilience Program in the Department of Environmental Protection. The order also created an Interagency Council on Climate Resilience. He signed the order on the anniversary of Hurricane Sandy.
Many states in the southeast have experienced one or more major storms in the last 5-10 years. We can all look at this new program as a good example of planning for the future, it is something every state could do to protect it’s citizens and plan for future storms.
